You don’t need a degree to fall in love with art, you just need a reason to look.
Whether it’s a quiet bronze sculpture in the corner of a gallery, a giant mural you stumble across in the street, or a bold exhibition that stays with you long after you’ve left — this is where I write about the art, places and people that have moved me.
I’m Gina — a creative strategist, art and culture storyteller, and long-time wanderer through galleries, museums, and cultural spaces. I created Art Crush Blog to capture those moments of connection I have had with art: the spark, the pull, the unexpected emotional punch and want to inspire others to go and visit some of these amazing museums and galleries.
Here, you’ll find personal reflections, reviews, behind-the-scenes insights, and stories from gallery visits, road trips, public programs, and cultural experiences from all corners of the globe I’ve been lucky enough to visit. Some posts are deep dives. Others are quick sparks. But all are written with genuine curiosity and a desire to connect art with people and places.
I believe the best reactions aren’t always technical — they’re emotional, instinctive, even a little obsessive.
You don’t need a degree to fall in love with art. Just a reason to look closer.
The picture on this page was taken inside The Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg, Russia. Titled: Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss. It’s a sculpture by Italian artist Antonio Canova, commissioned in 1787 by Colonel John Campbell. It is regarded as a masterpiece of Neoclassical sculpture, but shows the mythological lovers at a moment of great emotion, characteristic of the emerging movement of Romanticism.
